Information

The International Center for Container Studies – C.I.S.Co was established in 1967 by the Genoa Port Authority and the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa when the maritime container world was unkown in the European shipping industry.

It aims to contribute in respect of maritime transport systems, land and air, to greater efficiency and development of logistics and freight transport, with particular reference to new transport technologies intermodal and combined, through the analysis of the related problems of the framework of the national and international critical debate and the formulation of concrete proposals for legislative or administrative actions.

Particular attention is given to new transport technologies through the analysis of the related problems within the framework of the national and international critical debate and the submission of concrete proposals for legislative or administrative actions within UNI, ISO, UNECE.

The Center operates as Italian organization representation of the Bureau International des Containers et du Transport Intermodal (BIC) and it has built partner relationships with maritime authority and companies in Italy and abroad.

C.I.S.Co. uses these partnerships to keep its processes and knowledge at the highest level across all paradigms and works with leading companies such as Maritime Authorities, Chambers of Commerce, Maritime private companies.
